Sea salt bath

Sea salt bath relieves foot pain and swelling, and fosters healing of wounds.

After foot surgery, you may begin with sea salt baths one day after suture removal.

In case of wound healing problems consult your doctor before beginning with footbaths.

You should bathe both feet at a time.

Use a bowl large enough to fit both your feet in.
Heat water to 35–40 °C.
Ensure that the water level is up to your ankles.

Add 1 heaped tablespoon of sea salt to 1 litre of water.
Add 2 drops of peppermint essential oil and 3 drops of bergamot essential oil to the bath.

Bathe your feet for 20–30 minutes.

After the bath, dry your feet with a soft towel and massage with aloe vera oil: this moisturises your skin and has an anti-inflammatory effect.
