Physical therapy after toe surgery

Continue exercising until you feel pain and a little longer. Exercise your operated toes in the morning, at lunchtime and in the evening for 10 continuous minutes until your normal walking ability has restored.

In case of stiff big toe or hallux rigidus you may use only exercises 1 and 3.

You should start exercises with your 2nd to 5th toe after the metal rods have been removed.

Immediately after the surgery

Exercise 1

Bend and stretch your foot from the ankle for 3 minutes. Repeat 3 times in an hour. Start with this exercise when sensation in your feet has returned after the surgery.
